Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, situated in central Helsinki since 1999, underwent a comprehensive concept reform. This included a multi-million euro renovation project of the hotel property executed by Sokotel Ltd, who manage the international business hotel. Their problem was that in spite of heavy investments and a decade’s marketing efforts, the hotel was virtually unknown.
The key to success was long-term cooperation and systematic communications focusing on the service innovations brought by the reform. The target audiences were approached through a combination of traditional media, blogs and other social media channels. The domestic and international media as well as bloggers published dozens of articles on the Plaza Hotel. After an 18-month relaunch project, Plaza was ranked as one of Helsinki’s best five hotels on the TripAdvisor website.
We combined traditional and new communications methods with the client’s laid-back organisational culture. The charming Hotel Manager was introduced to the media and the travelling world. Now the hotel is constantly full of life and attracts visitors from around the world.
